Philip Wade Photograpy, London PhotographerI'm a London based photographer with over 20 years experience working in corporate, public relations, conferences, pack shots, models and childrens tests. The studio is in Islington and I'm available for location shoots for your corporate, conference and PR occasions. Prices, travel, what you get for your money. I’m all yours for a day or evening's photography for £400. It is rare to be asked for anything other than digital these days but
rest assured, if you need transparency or neg shot, we can do this. Magazine and editorial photograpyMAGAZINE / EDITORIALThis type of photography I love! You may have a minute to photograph someone, you may have an hour. Sometimes the best shots come from “sorry I have a meeting to go to and can only give you five minutes to photograph me”. You’ve just walked through the door, never seen the office before, which light source is best, no time for a studio umbrella, where’s the background, if I chuck that area out of focus, it’s colourful but quite abstract, won’t detract from the subject but will enhance the overall pic with it’s shapes and colours. Put them there with light from the window and maybe a reflector on the other side for fill, perhaps a little fill in flash on some for a harder image. “You’ve got enough shots of me now have’nt you? It’s only for an editorial piece in the magazine”. And they're gone leaving you to sit down and replay your digital images ( how did our nerves survive before digital cut down the waiting process to view those images!) Or perhaps you are allowed to discuss the shoot over the phone, “I come from up North, can’t find a decent pickled egg down here”, if I found some you liked would you mind being photographed eating them, “nah”. Waitrose do a pickled egg that people from up North will call passable in case anyone is interested. So we set up the studio light, sat him on a sofa with forkful of egg and jar in his hands, magazine beside him, I think he finished the entire jarful by the time we had finished shooting. Just time to take a few more different photos of him against a big window, change the camera setting to tungsten, gel a Redhead to daylight and bathe everything in blue apart from his face, lovely. Events, awards, press opportunities and general marketing images. The wild and wacky world of a PR photographerAnything from vampires being repelled by cloves of garlic beautifully packaged in their own mini coffin to Ken Livingston lookey likey on a scooter outside the man’s office. We had to turn the studio into a vampire cave, black velvet and spray on cob webs, a fair maiden wrestling with the beastly fellow, but what a fun way to spend an afternoon! It’s a roller coaster ride from beginning to end with the client and everyone else having thoughts on the end result. I think it is because I do such a wide variety of jobs that things keep themselves fresh for me, so bring it on. And it also means I'm ready and willing to shoot the more conventional too - it's all here.. Conference PhotographerCONFERENCE PHOTOGRAPHY This is a great way to spend a day. There is usually something interesting being discussed, one ear on the speakers, two eyes on the next photograph. Take various angled shots of the conference venue empty with events logos and branding showing, find the best place to leave your gear during the day, usually near a thirteen amp plug for refreshing the batteries, then off to the reception area to shoot delegates arriving, registration and more branding. Quick cup of coffee. Opening speaker, hopefully background colour is not weak. Nice strong images on the projection screen, audience shots from front and back of auditorium, get them clapping, questions from the floor. Panelist’s talking and taking questions, those damn water bottles sitting on the table going up everyone’s nose in the shots, always one speaker who hates their photograph being taken, keeps looking down or away, if only they would look just past the camera for 30 seconds, that’s enough for us to get what we need and leave them in peace! Get some good audience reaction, maybe a brochure in the foreground, conference going on around it can make a interesting shot. Possibly in between all this you grab another coffee, even some lunch and before you know it it’s time to go home, quite possibly having given out the odd card or two to someone who’s got a conference coming up. Awards Photographer Now some may say this is not for them, but every year I get a trip to Paris with one award organisation I work for, so how bad is that! Arrive when venue is empty, shots of stage and branding as reference for client next year. Photos of the whole venue, tables, lighting, brochure in foreground can work very well. Reception for guests, people mingling, talking, maybe asked for business card, someone has “one of these coming up”. Shots of guest speaker, John Sargeant is everywhere these days. Possibly get fed which is very nice, have a chat with the AV guys, try and remember the jokes they tell. Now the awards, 16 to 20 is usual, some poor people have to walk all the way from the back to receive them, looking embarrassed as they negotiate the tables. Big smile and the award turned towards the camera always helps and off they go. Lots of group shots, everyone looks happy and that’s it. Maybe have to send some jpegs that night, cd of images in the post next day, job done. I thank you. I'm a London based photographer with over 20 years experience and I'm available for all your Awards CeremoniesI have just done a series of events for Abbey National, we all had such great fun, we thought at the end why not we all have a party to celebrate! An event can have such a variety of entertainers involved, dancers, magicians, costume actors swans on stilts and music. Everyone is usually there to have a great time so good action shots and loads of smiles are almost guaranteed. The big thing is to get photos of as many people as possible, it’s put on for them so clients like to see as many happy faces in as many pictures as possible. Also the organisers like to see good photos of everything they have arranged, shows a job well done. Join in the fun that’s what I say, I even got dragged onto the dancer floor a couple of times, well you have to show willing don’t you. Wedding PhotographerWould you like to SEE what happened on your wedding day ?...those behind the scene cameo's missed whilst gazing into each others eyes as the words 'I do' were uttered... ...shots that show friends and family, fighting and fainting, great uncle Fester, tipsy at the reception, showing a little too much attention to someone young enough... ... those off the cuff shots, wide angle views, telephoto close ups... ...these are the photos that make up a revealing reportage style account of your special day... ...and there'll be a great set of the rather more conventional as well!
