Your £125 Spotlight package.

I work in the studio with flash and tungsten for different effects on subject and background, also in house are areas for natural light shots. Outside I have brick walls for strong gritty images.
Close by are canals/walls/parks to further enhance you photos.
Sessions are one and a half hours and I take from 150 - 200 images.
Lots of time for 2/3 changes of hair style and clothes.
All session images on two discs.
One sent to you and one to your agent for viewing and selection.
Your choice of three images printed by myself to "10 x 8".
These same images burned to a third disc for you.
I will email jpegs on request.

My intention when photographing you is to create at least three different looks that you can then present to your agent and future clients. These three looks may be found through lighting, hair and make up or choice of background but between them a client will be able to see your versatility of character and personality. Look at my portfolio and you will see how I have helped actors to achieve this in recent shoots.

The Spotlight serves an ever-growing community of stage and screen professionals, publishing over ten different directories every year in book and Internet format.

Actors/Actresses
Book/principal photos can be changed for the printed edition in March-May (Actresses), September- November (Actors) You can submit a new hard copy, email a picture or send a disk. Or you can use an existing portfolio photograph. This will be explained on your renewal invitation. Outside of these periods you can choose to display a portfolio photograph as your first viewable (biggest) picture using your UPDATE PIN.

Presenters
Book photo can be changed for the printed edition in June-July. You can submit a new hard copy, email a picture or send a disk. Or you can use an existing portfolio photograph. This will be explained on your renewal invitation. Outside of these periods you can choose to display a portfolio photograph as your first viewable (biggest) picture using your UPDATE PIN.

Children & Young Performers
Book photo can be changed for the printed edition in November. You can submit a new hard copy, email a picture or send a disk. Or you can use an existing portfolio photograph. This will be explained on your renewal invitation. Outside of this period you can choose to display a portfolio photograph as your first viewable (biggest) picture using your UPDATE PIN.

Graduates
An appearance in Spotlight Graduates is a one-off occasion and therefore you cannot change the book picture but you can upload portfolio photographs to your web-page at anytime and choose to display one of these as your first viewable (biggest) picture using your UPDATE PIN.

Dancers
Book photo can be changed for the printed edition in June-July. You can submit a new hard copy, email a picture or send a disk. Or you can use an existing portfolio photograph. This will be explained on your renewal invitation. Outside of these periods you can choose to display a portfolio photograph as your first viewable (biggest) picture using your UPDATE PIN.

 

Spotlight members can have up to 15 photographs on their Spotlight web page. The more you have, the more information this gives to casting directors - so try to include as many shots as you can, and update them regularly. For your book page, you must select one photo, known as your 'principal photo' (with the exception of dancers, who should supply two book photos).

 

Always use photos which actually look like you! It may be tempting to go for glamorous, air-brushed shots: but it is very important for casting directors to see the most accurate likeness possible. If you turn up at an audition looking completely different, you are wasting their time. Make sure you update your photographs regularly as your appearance changes.

  • For your book page (your main photo) we recommend a simple, head and shoulders, portrait shot. Keep your appearance as neutral as possible. Remember, the casting director wants to see the 'real' you. Wear something simple and avoid props, backgrounds and accessories. Your eyes are the most important features, so make sure they are as visible as possible.
  • For your web page, in addition to this main photo, we recommend that you show yourself in a range of distinct characters and looks, in order to demonstrate your versatility to casting directors. Consider submitting a broad variety including full-body shots, stage-shots, or stills from film / TV. Please make sure photos are professional and of a high quality.
